I am looking for suggestions on painting this lovely empire piece. I am keeping the green granite top, so keep that in mind. This piece will work nicely in a hall, living or family room area. Once of the drawer pulls is damaged. This is an old piece so I don’t think I will be able to get a match. I am thinking about glass pulls like these. I am not sure what to do with the black columns, but will probably keep them black or another dark color.

Finally Painting Again
I haven’t posted my refreshed furniture or home decor items lately for many reasons.
1. If I want to be really honest, I have been lazy.
2. I have been busy with new merchandise coming in and getting ready for a family vacation.
3. I am creating my website’s e-commerce and shopping cart system. I do everything on this website myself, yep all by myself. I know, sometimes it’s really obvious that I am a novice, but my services are so much cheaper than anyone else’s I can find! You might also notice that the website has a completely new look! Would love some feedback on the new look.
3. I have been so sore and banged up from setting up and closing up at a recent market. This one I had to do myself, but I am getting some help at the next one.
So, enough of my personal issues of the day. Here is one of my latest projects a pair of night stands. I can’t find the before picture, but I assure you they were worth painting. They are sturdy and in good shape except for the top, lots of dings and scratches. I had no choice, I had to sand them. I decided to do a grayish white on the main body and a darker gray on the drawers and accents. I am pleased with how they are coming along. I just have to do some finishing up and decide what I am going to do about the drawer pulls. Here they are with the original drawer pulls, which are really nice, but just don’t go well with the new look. I haven’t decided whether to paint the pulls or add new hardware. I will probably paint them the same grayish white that is on the body. Any suggestions on the pulls are certainly welcome! Yours, Amy

Patina Dining Set: Part Two
Here is the progress on my dining table. I started with the finish on the legs and body. I showed you the chairs for this set in my previous post on June 6, 2013. I used van Gogh paint in “Patina” with a gray wash and waxed it. I wanted to do a whitewash or white dry brush look for the table top. I started with “Chalk” a white by van Gogh paint also, and then put a light layer of “Patina” in the middle. I dry brushed it again a couple of times in “Chalk”. I think it is too “White”. I want to tone it down a bit. I am thinking about making a glaze with van Gogh “Cashmere”. Tomorrow I may try it on a small area to see what it might look like. I don’t want to lose the whitewashed look. Ideas on toning it down are welcome! I am planning to use a poly finish on the top for durability.
